The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating violence and mayhem with the same glee, all while weaving engaging, ideologically themed narratives. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two creators whose creations have exemplified all of those things.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' format by having a new setting and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team always encourages me with their steady belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can shift from year to year, while always examining the core of people through this multifaceted and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, daring style to the television.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
