Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.
Memorials across the state have taken place in their memory.
The president stated heâs proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both individuals of the state National Guard.
âI said: âWhen youâre prepared, because thatâs a hard experience, come to the White House. Weâre going to pay tribute to her,â Trump informed journalists. âAnd in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.â
Community members assembled over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of the presidentâs federal initiative to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.
âShe was the individual that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,â Hankins, the head of her former high school, informed the press. âShe was caring, considerate and always willing to help others.â
Funeral plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.
