A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has experienced technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
