Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the US has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
