Passionate supporters of the actress are urging that a person who jumped a barrier and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating footage reveals the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains clips of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney show in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.
Many followers accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more message on Instagram.
Several fans also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others called for digital services to block Mr Wen's videos.
In clips circulating online, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.
Many of fans had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including a number who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.
The motion picture, to be premiered on 21 November, is the second of a dual adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely relationship between two distinct witches.
The show itself is a adaptation of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, winning several for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
