Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
