Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
âThe boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,â Omotosho said.
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.â
